A colorful Bel Air Bay Club wedding filled with ocean views, butter yellow details, vibrant florals, signature drinks, and even alpacas!
Okay, I have to be honest with you- this Bel Air Bay Club wedding was really fun. Iris and Todd brought so much personality to every single decision, and it shows. Their Bel Air Bay Club wedding was colorful, joyful, and completely them, and I loved every second of pulling it together.
Bel Air Bay Club is one of my favorite venues in the LA area… and if you know me, you know I don’t say that lightly. The indoor/outdoor setup is genuinely one of the best of both worlds, and those water views? They never get old. Let’s walk through their day.
I always say your invitation suite is your guests’ first impression of the day, and Iris and Todd absolutely delivered. Their stationery featured an illustration that was the perfect preview of what was coming: color-filled, vibrant, and full of personality. When you love your venue as much as these two loved Bel Air Bay Club, leaning into it in your paper goods just makes sense. It anchors the whole design from the start.

Butter yellow has been everywhere lately, and I get it- it’s warm without being overwhelming, and it photographs beautifully in natural light. The wedding party wore a sunny, muted shade and it was the perfect look for a summertime celebration.

Iris carried a cascading bouquet of calla lilies, orchids, and tulips in the most gorgeous pink and white combination. The Flower Lab absolutely nailed it- that bouquet was stunning, and honestly so was everything else they touched that day.

Iris and Todd said their vows outdoors beneath a lush floral arch in shades of pink and peach. The peach, coral, pink, and yellow palette ran all the way through the ceremony and into the reception. It was cohesive without feeling too matchy matchy, which is exactly the goal. And the sea breeze and ocean views? For a summer wedding, it was as close to perfect as it gets.

Cocktail hour was one of my favorite parts of the entire design. We leaned into the lemon and butter yellows with accents of blue- think Italian summer, but with better weather. The signature cocktail signage had a gorgeous ornate lemon element introducing guests to the groom’s Signature Drinks of choice: a Naked & Famous and Italian 75.

They also had a Boba bar as the bride’s Signature Drink- perfect for guests who wanted a non-alcoholic option, and I have to say… 10/10, always recommend having a great mocktail moment at your wedding. Not everyone drinks, and it’s such a simple way to make sure all your guests feel thought of.

And we HAVE to talk about the Alpacas! Iris loves alpacas- like, genuinely loves them- and Todd decided to surprise her with two at the wedding… dressed as a bride and groom, naturally. They were there for photos, and they were absolutely the highlight of the day for basically every single person there.

Quick note for couples considering animals at their venue: not every venue allows this, so it’s worth asking upfront if it matters to you. (In my professional opinion, they should all make an exception for alpacas and dogs, but that’s a hill I’m still fighting on.) Thankfully, Bel Air Bay Club was totally on board.
This is exactly why I love working with couples who want to make the day theirs. Your dog there with you, alpacas in formal attire, a colorful palette… give me all of it. The best weddings are the ones where guests walk away saying ‘that was so them.’
Something I talk to every couple about before we get into the pretty stuff: your floor plan. This drives your entire design. The types of tables you use (and where they go) directly impacts your linen choices, your centerpiece heights, your chair selection, how the room flows, all of it. It’s not just a logistics decision.
For Iris and Todd, we mixed round and banquet tables. The combination let us maximize the space so guests had enough room to be comfortable without the room feeling sparse or cavernous. Once we had that locked in, everything else developed from there.

The colorful florals from the ceremony carried into the reception to accent the sweetheart table. Guest tables featured taper candles, frosted acrylic table numbers, blue and white Chinoiserie-style vases, blue napkins, glass chargers, and lemon accents that tied the whole Italian summer thread together beautifully.

Iris and Todd, I had so much fun with you two- alpacas and all. This wedding was a full reflection of who you are, and that’s exactly what I’m always going for.
